Exciting News!!

Hello Friends,

Its been a long time since we have given any updates.  A lot of exciting things have been happening for Jeffrey Alan.  We have been SUPER busy lately, so we wanted to take a moment to give a you a few snapshot updates.  Here is a buzz feed style list of all the happenings:

1. Justine Davis is Officially a Member

If you have made it out to our last few shows, you have seen Justine Davis grace the stage with her talented self.  She has brought a new dimension to our songs, and breathed life into them in ways that we never expected or imagined.  So, we decided to have "The Talk" and make it official.

2. We are writing new material.

The last couple of months have been filled with a new sense of focus and direction when it comes to writing.  We are becoming more comfortable with ourselves and more comfortable with the way we play together.  Every day our sound is becoming more focused and cohesive.  This is very apparent when it comes to the new material we are writing.  We are very excited to share this new material with you, whether it be at an upcoming show, or new recordings.  Which, brings us to number 3....

3. Recordings Are Being Made.

We plan on releasing a new single in the next couple of weeks.  It will be available as a free download (location tbd).  In addition, we hope to release a new EP in the beginning of 2015.  Be on the look out for both of those things!

4. WE HAVE A NEW NAME!

As of right now, Jeffrey Alan will go by the name "Fate of Fools."  With the new focused direction, new member, and hopes of potentially rounding out our line up  further at some point, this decision just made sense.  We hope the new material will truly be OUR songs.  We will, in the meantime be playing some of the old material as we begin to introduce the new.

I think that pretty much sums everything up at this point.  Be sure to like our new Facebook page, follow us on twitter, and follow us on instagram to stay updated on all of the latest happenings.  FateofFools.com will be coming soon!

Philly cheesesteaks, summer musicals, and greek Mythology...

Im sitting in a hotel in Philly right now.  Its not because we are playing here, but because I have a job here this week.  As a matter of fact both Brett and myself have been quite busy with our day jobs.  It is a mixed blessing of sorts.  We have bills to pay and unfortunately Jeffrey Alan is not doing it for us...  YET!

I work as a freelancer in the production world.  I love the nature of the work and I get to meet a lot of great people.  But when I am booked for work, it is very demanding.  I have time for little else.  Brett is a musical director for musical theater.  He just finished a modern musical adaptation of the story of Orpheus and Eurydice.  It was a great show!  He will be working this summer with a musical education program for children.  Pretty exciting stuff, but unfortunately we have not been able to spend as much time doing "Jeffrey Alan things".

We do hope to play a lot this summer around NYC.  We may even try our hand at a little east coast traveling before the end of the year.  We are also working on new material.  Its a little different than the songs from "Someday", but we think you will all like it.  They are a lot of fun for us to play at any rate.  We hope to have some more recordings done by the end of this year as well.  We are still trying to figure out how many songs, but we do want to do a physical release of it this time around.

Some exciting things in the works...  We will do our best to keep everyone informed as things solidify!

Much love,

-J

Its been a while

Hey everyone,

Its been a while since we have given any updates... So here is whats going on with us.

We are working on some new material. We hope to have another EP recorded soon.  Hopefully it will be available by the fall.

We've been playing roughly once a month and we are really working on our live show.  We haven't made it out of NYC to date, but we are thinking of trying our hand at some traveling later this summer.  We would really love some feedback on our current live show.  So if you get a chance to come check it out, please let us know what you think (even if it is negative)!

On top of all of this, we may be in a bit of transition with some members.  Jeffrey Alan is looking for some additions and trying out some new people, which is exciting as we hope to do much more with more people involved.

Overall we are in a honing stage.  We are extremely excited about some of the new stuff in the works, but we want to make sure that it is good as you, our fans deserve.

Much Love,

Jeffrey Alan

Welcome 2014!

Hey all,

We hope you all had a great holiday season over the past couple of weeks. We hope that you found yourselves with family, great friends, great food, and time to rest over the course of the season. We sure did.

Just wanted to say a quick thanks for all of the support over the last year. To everyone who came to our shows, downloaded our tunes, contributed to us financially, or gave us words of encouragement along the way, we appreciate you greatly!!!

A New Era...

When we went into the studio to record "Someday" we were in a much different place than we are now, both sonically as well as people.  While we look forward to (and hope you do too) the final release of this project, we hope that you bear with us as we are still figuring out our sound and identity as Jeffrey Alan.  Recreating the exact sound we had on the recording live as a two piece band is impossible. While we are not going to scrap the material by any means, we are reworking it.  We believe that it is for the better.  We are also in the process of writing new material that fits our current situation a little better. Hopefully YOU, the fans that support us will be happy with the results.

The future looks bright for Jeffrey Alan.  We will be playing around NYC as much as possible in the coming months.  We hope to see you all out at the shows!  We also plan  on doing some rough demo versions of our new/reworked material sooner than later.  We have no definite plans beyond this point, but hope to be able to do some traveling soon.  We are also looking into the possibility of doing a kickstarter (or something similar) campaign late in 2014.

So stay tuned for more great music!

And thank you for all of your support!!

With love,
JA
